BEAMS JAPAN is landing in Los Angeles, turning 609 S Imperial St. in the Arts District into a showcase of Japanese creativity from July 30 to August 26, 2025. If you’re into traditional craft, art, or design, this pop-up is where East meets West in a way that feels both classic and fresh.
The Tokyo-based label has hosted a string of pop-ups before, but this LA event is all about BEAMS JAPAN's mission—highlighting the people, products, and practices that define contemporary Japanese culture. Visitors will find everything from handcrafted wares from Aomori Hiba's Cul de Sac-JAPON to timeless furnishings by Sori Yanagi for Tendo Mokko. Art is front and center too, with original works from Japanese art legends Tadanori Yokoo and Daido Moriyama.
BEAMS JAPAN first made waves in the US back in 2019 at Fred Segal on Sunset Boulevard, bringing with it the energy and detail of its Shinjuku flagship. That debut even featured 101 lanterns lighting up the storefront, echoing alleys in Tokyo’s buzzing nightlife. Since then, BEAMS has only grown its reach, launching the BEAMS America web store and expanding its take on Japanese style abroad.
This LA edition offers an updated take on Japanese gifting culture and modern design, mixing old-school pieces with current statement items. It’s more than a pop-up—it’s a full-on cultural drop just off the LA River. If you want a taste of Tokyo in the heart of LA, mark your calendar and see what BEAMS JAPAN is bringing stateside.
