Salehe Bembury is once again bringing his distinct flair to New Balance, this time with the 1000 silhouette in a colorway dubbed “Fog Be The Cloud.” After teasing the project in May, Bembury and New Balance have now dropped official images, revealing a sneaker packed with color and texture.
The “Fog Be The Cloud” edition captures the spirit of Bembury’s approach: nothing is left untouched. You get an energetic mix of blue, forest green, neon hits, orange, brown, off-white, red, purple, and magenta across the upper and stitched Salehe branding. Panels move between synthetic, suede, and textile, making the shoe visually busy but balanced.
What sets this release apart is the color play on each foot. The left shoe leans into lavender, orange, green, yellow, red, and white, while the right mixes brown, blue, purple, red, forest green, and neon green for a mismatch that stands out in a crowd.
The New Balance 1000, first launched in 1999 and brought back for its 25th anniversary, has become a favorite in the lifestyle lineup for its retro vibes and comfortable build. Bembury’s take amps up the model’s personality with materials and contrasts you just don’t see elsewhere.
There’s no confirmed release date yet, but the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1000 “Fog Be The Cloud” is set to drop in Fall 2025, likely through BeASpunge, New Balance, and select retailers. Expect the price to sit slightly above the usual $150 for this model.
Keep your eyes out for more looks as the release approaches. These are sure to catch attention wherever you lace them up.
